I saw it advertised in the paper last week, and then my friend (who came earlier today) reminded me about it. I'm a sucker for anything cashmere, especially cardigans, so this is a very good sale for me.
What did you buy here today? I'm looking for cashmere pieces that will work as staples in my wardrobe. I've been to a couple of other sample sales, which have been hit or miss. But at this sale the quality is really good, so it's a great chance to get a deal. Sometimes you have to be willing to look, but with cardigans it's pretty easy—there are a ton of them.
What are you wearing? I got this necklace on the street, but the other one with the V is a Helen Ficalora; she's a popular designer right now.
Best purchase ever? A Polacci coat-sweater that I bought at Century 21 on clearance. It was worth a few hundred dollars, but I got it for $30. I've had it for years and still get tons of compliments on it.
Sample sale tips or secrets? It helps to know what you are looking for. It's easy to grab a lot of things, but I think it's good to take a minute, step back, and consider whether you really want it or if you're just buying it because it's a sample sale.
