A Few Good Minerals: Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics

Unless you’ve been living under a rock (pun intended), you know that mineral makeup is HUGE right now. It’s healthier, more natural, and provides perfect lightweight coverage. The cherry on the top: Not suffocating your skin under a cake icing-like base.
I of course have my favorites…namely,
Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics’ Liquid Mineral Foundation. This paraben-free complex of reduced salt deep sea water (infused with over 20% ocean minerals) and good-for-you botanicals hydrates the skin (particularly crucial now that the temperature’s dropped) while keeping my little imperfections (freckles, dark spots, you name it) under cover. My skin looks and feels moisturized, radiant, and pure, and nobody sees the aftermath of one too many margaritas the night before.
And to think that I’d written off geology as boring!
If you’re looking to rock out stop by Henri Bendel’s this week (today through 12/2) to check out Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics in the oh-so-flawless flesh.

Neck & Neck: Lierac Coherence

What better time to talk about the dreaded turkey wattle neck than Thanksgiving?
You know what I mean—the sad wrinkles and loose, sagging skin that invade our neck area as we age, turning us from a graceful swan to gobble gobble.
Well, I for one about not about to spend the rest of my life draped in turtlenecks and old lady scarves. Which is why I’m getting the anti-aging show on the road and using Lierac Paris Coherence Neck-Firmer Intensive Lifting Treatment now.
The cream is enriched with powerful Type III Accelerating Vectors, which boost collagen production and firm the skin, while active ingredients sculpt and “lift" the neck and décolleté area (that’s right—no rippled cleavage either!). For best results apply Coherence in the am and pm.
The cost? $65 a jar. Not looking like Thanksgiving dinner? Pretty darn priceless.

Pie in the Sky: Thanksgiving-Inspired Beauty from Juice Beauty, Bath & Body Works, The Body Shop, Archipelago Botanicals & Korres

I’ve got a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving: relatives that know how to cook so I can sleep in; pants with elastic waistbands; and the dreamy sight of Tony Romo in his snug little football uniform.
I’m also grateful for these spectacularly scented beauty products that instantly get me in the seasonal spirit. Bonus: No calories. Too bad I can’t say the same for Grandma’s pecan pie!
Juice Beauty Green Apple Mousse Body Cleanser: Just like mom’s apple pie…only slathered over the body for a refreshing, cleansing beauty treat.
The Body Shop Cranberry Body Butter: Your favorite body moisturizer gets a Pilgrim-approved update.
Archipelago Botanicals Pomegranate Dry Body Oil Spray: This good-for-you moisturizer has a nice fruity kick while combating cold weather-related dry skin.
Bath & Body Works Pecan Passion Three-in-One Body Wash, Bubble Bath & Shampoo: Do: Lather yourself up with this ultra-sweet pecan pie-scented gel. Don’t: Guzzle it down, no matter how badly you’re craving the blend of brown sugar, warm pecan, and whipped vanilla cream.
Korres Holiday Fig Gift Set: Body scrub, body butter, and shower gel comes in an intoxicatingly earthy fig aroma.

Beauty Copycat: Cate Blanchett

Maybe it’s easy to look all ethereal and glowing when you’ve got a bun in the oven…but I still have to give Cate Blanchett props for her radiant, natural-but-not-quite makeup application. And since changing up your beauty routine is a heck of a lot easier than getting knocked up (unless you’re Britney Spears, of course), I recommend faking Cate’s baby-making glow with these products.
La Mer The Loose Powder: La Mer = la bomb, period. This air-spun translucent powder provides flawless, ultra-light coverage.
Becca Crème Blush: Score your royal flush with this creamy blush on the apples of the cheeks.
Fresh Satin Luster Face Palette: Layer these iridescent creams over blush and just under the eyebrows for extra luminosity.
Revlon ColorStay 12 Hour Eye Shadow in Hazelnut: This light brown shadow creates a soft lid for a natural look.
Blinc Kiss Me Mascara in Dark Brown: Skip eyeliner and create definition with this volumizing and lengthening mascara instead.
DuWop Lip Venom: Full (but not collagen-ized lips) call for a swipe of this magic lip plumper.
Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Mango: Ditch the lip liner and let this peachy-pink lip gloss do the talking for you.

Strange Brew: Toxic Beauty Tea from Tracy Stern SALONTEA

Doesn’t the word "hangover" seem to imply that you’ll, you know, get over it? Instead, an overdose of holiday parties has made you feel like you’ve woken up in Amy Winehouse’s body—and that, my friend, is not pretty.
Since cutting back on your party girl lifestyle is obviously out of the question (you have a social life to protect, mmm-kay?), you need a little dose of detox to get you back on your Louboutin heels by sundown.
Baby…it’s time to put the kettle to the metal.
Tea guru Tracy Stern of SALONTEA has created a line of beauty-enhancing brews, including Toxic Beauty, designed to "provide all the antioxidants needed to forgive a hectic lifestyle." Sound familiar?
This low-caffeine herbal green tea is blended with ginkgo leaves, blackberry, St. John’s wort, nettle, lemongrass, and mistletoe—lots of botanical goodness to help restore your system and take you from rough and ragged to pure and balanced.
At least until happy hour.
