Relax, Don't Do It: Clarins Eau Tranquility

Confession: I’ve had, oh, about 12 meltdowns this week. Okay, make that 15.
Car trouble, men behaving badly, avalanches of work, red tape…I got stress! And while I’d like to take my aggressions out with a baseball bat (and a pint of Ben & Jerry’s), I suppose there are healthier, prettier ways to relax.
Like
Clarins Eau Tranquility…a very Zen product line that includes calming eau de toilette, bath & shower gel, body cream, body lotion, and even deodorant. That’s right—even my pits need to chill the $&2% out.
Essential oils and gentle formulas keep the products light & as relaxed as your mother’s jeans. Suddenly that urge to throw your laptop into oncoming traffic is replaced by happy thoughts.
At least until your boss starts talking again.

Get in Ma Belly: Rodial Tummy Tuck

I’m not saying Britney Spears looked like a sparkly bikini-clad pig in a blanket at the MTV Video Music Awards, but I don’t think it would have hurt if someone had spiked her tanning cream with Rodial’s Tummy Tuck before she took the stage.
Hey, we’ve all been there. Skipping the gym so you can stay at home and watch “Top Model”…giving in to insatiable cravings for Krispy Kreme and beer…popping out two kids in less than a year while living solely on Cheetos…and then suddenly you look down and realize that your Earnest Sewns are cutting off your circulation.
You could get lipo—because scars and credit card debt is so much better than stomach rolls. Or you could just rub Tummy Tuck over your abs of veal twice a day for eight weeks. Fig extracts and neuropeptides break down fatty cells, leaving you with a tighter, slimmer waistline.
Then you can gyrate in a black glitter bikini all you want.

Mas Moss: James Brown London from Kate Moss

It’s amazing what ditching a loser junkie boyfriend will do for your productivity. We’ve barely finished ogling the autumn/winter Kate Moss TopShop collection and her newly launched Coty fragrance when news comes via WWD that the perpetually bedheaded Miss Moss will be teaming with hairstylist James Brown to create a range of hair care products called James Brown London. The deets:
The Products: 16 products, ranging from moisture masks to shampoos and conditioners to styling balms and serums, with a fragrance “inspired by the Irish countryside” to boot.
The Packaging: Minimalist and impossibly chic – duh!
Ingredients: No illegal substances here. Look for botanicals like nettle, white tea, watercress, wheat germ, and murumuru butter.
How Much?: Surprisingly affordable, at the equivalent of $12-$16. In other words, more money than Pete Doherty has in his pockets right now.
Where to Score the Products So You Can Inevitably Sell Them on Ebay: Stay tuned. The line will be sold at Boots in the UK, but the company is still figuring out a way to bring it to us Yanks.
Do you want Kate’s hair or are you over it?

Gifted & Talented: $25 Gift Cards for Bergdorf Goodman
The English language has two words that absolutely send you into a frenzy every time you see or hear them: “free” and “beauty.” (“Brad” and “Pitt” come a distant second.)
Unfortunately, you don’t come across those two words too often, unless you count the perfume inserts you pull out of “Vogue” each month, or the lipstick testers you can’t resist sampling at your favorite beauty counter.
Here’s something to make your day a lot brighter:
Bergdorf Goodman is offering a FREE $25 gift card towards any beauty purchase of $100 or more, from Sept. 27 to Sept. 29. There are no strings attached—just print out this page and bring it to the Beauty Level along with the armful of beauty riches you’ve discovered.
Some La Mer eye cream? A Chantecaille palette? A fragrance from Chanel? Deciding what to get is your challenge…being able to afford it isn’t.

Runway or Another: Score Fall’s Smoky Eyes with MAC, Sue Devitt, Maybelline, Bobbi Brown & Girl2Go

Either the runway models have been punching each other out backstage, or smoky eyes are back in style this season. And while I love a good catfight as the next person, I love me some sultry raccoon makeup even more. Get the look with these products:
MAC Gentle Fume Eyes: Is it hot in here, or is it just this sexy palette from MAC’s new Smoke Signals collection? Go modern with white, gray, intense blue, and charcoal hues.
Bobbi Brown Forest Metallics Eye Palette: The queen of eye palettes brings us this set of three rich, nature-inspired shades. Perfect for fall.
Sue Devitt Microquatic Black Widow Mascara: Knock ‘em dead with voluminous lashes. Advanced Microsphere Technology targets each and every lash.
Maybelline Define-a-Line: Don’t’ you love it when a drugstore product has everything your heart desires? This sleek eyeliner has a precision tip and a built-in smudger and sharpener.
girl2go Naked Eyes Eye Makeup Remover Wipes: If you’re going to do smoky eyes, you’ve gotta use these unless you want your pillowcases to look like a Rorschach test.

Clear & Present Danger: Dermalogica Overnight Clearing Gel

Once upon a time, I was one of those blessed souls who only got the odd zit maybe once a month (disgusting, I know). But now? I seem to wake up with a new one on my chin every morning. Damn you, adult acne!
But I’ve got a new weapon in my arsenal, and those pesky pimples are already licking their wounds. Meet Dermalogica’s new Overnight Clearing Gel. This genius product combines two of the things I love best: sleeping, and fabulous skin. It’s also packed with good-for-you ingredients like tea tree oil, rosemary, green tea, and a Vitamin B complex.
Before you hit the hay, follow up your cleanser with this gel. While you have naughty dreams about Orlando Bloom, it works to soothe irritations, purify the skin, clear up breakouts, and prevent future ones.
Good skin while you snooze? Can’t beat that.

Beauty Copycat: Kylie Minogue

It’s safe to say that I’ve been obsessed with Kylie Minogue since, oh, 1988, when I begged my mom for a perm and rocked a midriff-baring top and an oh-so-hip-at-the-time skirt with built-in Lycra shorts. (And yes, I did purchase—and wear—a “Kylie Says Relax” nightshirt at the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Kylie exhibit this summer.) Thankfully, Kylie’s come a long, long way style-wise from her “Locomotion” days (me, not so much).
And just when I thought the iconic diva couldn’t get any more fabulous, she whipped out this fabulous Bardot-esque hairstyle. It’s a little bit romantic, a little bit retro, and just all-around sexy and chic.
These products will help you score Kylie-like curls:
T3 Micro Twirl! 1.25 Professional Ceramic Curling Iron: The Porsche of curling irons. Use this baby to create beautiful bouncy curls.
Ojon Hair Plump & Hold Root Lifting Spray: Spritz this on your locks to pump up the volume.
Scünchi Blonde Classic Pins: If your hair is growing out like Kylie’s, pin the sides and back. If you’ve got longer locks, put your own spin on it with a ’60s-style ponytail.
