With all the good holidays falling in the middle of the week, some of us actually have to go straight from work to a family meal, office party or New Year’s celebration. Here's some tips to get your makeup ready for holiday festivities, without having to redo your entire look.

Before you do anything else, liven up your spirit (and your face) with a spritz of  some floral water, says Margret Avery, NYC makeup artist. I’m a big fan of Stella McCartney's  Care Toning Floral Water.

Punch up your daytime look with a sweep of gold over your eye lid, says celebrity makeup artist Daniella and in the inner corner of the eye—it’s a quick way to look glamorous. Forgot to bring your toothbrush so you can freshen up before the big night out? "Of course the best thing you can do for fresh breath is to brush and floss,” says  Dr. Mickey Bernstein, President of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, “but if you don't have the tools or the time, swishing a liquid releases trapped food and washed away bacteria.  Even if you don't have  mouthwash, using water for 30 seconds will help."

Dab some pizzazz on to your early day face with a little nighttime shimmer courtesy of  M.A.C. Sheerspark Pressed Powder.

Bourjois Duo Scrub Lip Balm. It has a clever little scrub to slough off dry skin on the cap and a great sparkly gloss in the tube. Don’t have access to it? A simple sheet of paper towel can be used to scrub your pucker too. 

Opt for a lip liner that is one or two shades darker than you normally use for your day look, says Daniella, and mix in your regular day color along with it.

Go bold on your lips, says Daniella, spring for a vibrant shade of pink, fuschia, red, or orange to make a dramatic and classic change from day to night.
