Gym Bag Beauty

I know how hard it is to get your butt to the gym—trust me, I know. If you are
anything like me, an inner voice starts a dialogue, "I’m too tired. It’s that
time of the month. I would rather eat than sweat. Heavy breathing? No thank
you." Last thing you need is to worry about all the things you have to schlep
with you so you can leave the gym just as beautiful as you looked when you went
in. We know you can find the mini sized versions of your favorite shampoo,
deodorant and soap, but here are a few things you may want to stock your bag
with so that the only thing you have to think about is getting up and going.
Swiper
Don’t even think of packing your entire skin cleansing routine. An all in one
pad will work miracles for your post gym shower. MD
Skincare EZ4U 4-In-1 Facial Treatment is one towelette that does it all -
cleanses, tones, treats, and moisturizes in one easy swipe.
Scenter
I go to the gym during lunch, so my smelly gym clothes sit in a bag for at least
5 hours before I get home and I nearly keel over from the stench when I finally
take them out. Add a sheet of
Bounce Awakening (we love both the Renewing Rain and Paradise Thrill scents)
— dryer sheets, yes—to your tote to keep your work clothes smelling good while
they sit in the stinky locker and your after workout gym clothes and sweaty
sneakers, from reeking up your bag.
Walker
These funky
MBT sneakers aren’t
meant to be worn for exercise beyond walking, and may not be a beauty item per
se, but they are known to increase muscle activity, improve circulation,
posture, and balance, all while toning legs hips, abs and glutes. So toss these
in your bags for days when you feel you’ll only be able to muster a brisk walk
on the treadmill, and know that you’ll be getting so much more.
Shower
Even if your head gets sweaty, if you paid enough for that blow out the day
before, chances are you aren’t shampooing during this shower. Stash a Blow, The
New York Blow Dry Bar’s The
Perfect Shower Cap in your tote. It’s oversized so you know you’re getting
all of your hair in and it's 100% terry lined so it seals out all of the
moisture in the shower, and it fits nice and snuggly into your gym bag.
Holder
How many times have
you left your hair tie in the shower when you take your pony tail out and then
have nothing when you want to put your hair up later on? Bumble and bumble Bb.
Bandball will save you the headache. It’s a pink bouncy ball surrounded by 100
hair elastics in bright colors, perfect for throwing in your gym bag so you know
you’ll always have a hair tie, and if you remember to put your used band back on
the ball before you get in the shower—even better! But stock up on them fast
they are limited editions (and they make a great stocking stuffer to boot if you
are thinking ahead)!
Dryer
Metropolis Lithium Ion (L-Ion) mini
wireless straightening iron is only 7.5 inches long and runs on batteries.
You can use it to touch up your hair after a tough workout if you choose not to
wash your hair, or pack their
T-Ion Mini Dryer, a lightweight travel blowdryer—it fits in the palm of your
hand but packs as much wallop as a normal sized dryer.
Shampooer
You may want to stick with your usual shampoo and conditioner combos, but we
really like these
Essential Weekend Kits from Davines that come with mini shampoo and
conditioners in a cute little waterproof pouch available in a few varieties
depending on whether you have dry, frizzy, curly or chemically treated hair. |
