Eugenia Kim
designs a line of hats for Coach
By Alisa Welch
April 28 2008
This month, Coach debuts twenty new hat designs by milliner
extraordinaire Eugenia Kim in collaboration with Coach's
creative director, Reed Krakoff. While it might be a surprise
marriage between Coach’s classic and preppy style and Kim’s
urban artsy bent, the results are tiptop toppers.
The 'Maude'
cloche has just the right amount of vintage styling to make it
modern and fresh. Check out the ubiquitous Coach logo used as a
part of the flower. So elegant!
A newsboy cap is perfect for spring afternoons at the country
club, or frightening bad hair days. The 'Eugenia'
combines a colorful graphic grid with a touch of serious Coach
hardware for a casual yet chic look.
The 'Karee'
is an update on a classic 1960’s shape but a mixture of fabric,
a leather band, and gleaming brass buckle brings this hat into
the 21st century. Similar to the 'Karee' is the
mod-inspired silhouette of the 'Soho
Print Lydia' hat in a fabulously floral weatherproof fabric
that will most certainly have you singin' in the rain.
Adding one of Coach’s Kim-designed hats to your spring wardrobe
is a fabulous way to get a head start on summer.
