Cute and Reusable Totes are in the Bag
By Alisa Welch

Paper or plastic? How about neither, thank you very much. As of last year,
citizens of San Francisco said adiós to plastic bags and other cities
will certainly follow suit. Why wait until a municipal ordinance to do the
right thing when fashionable reusable bags are plentiful?
Hayden-Harnett’s 'Friends
of Al' tote has tons going for it: neat graphic with happy birds and trees,
inside pockets, magnetic closure, and a roomy interior. Best of all,
Hayden-Harnett donates $25 of the sale price to global warming charities and $10
to American Forest organization.
In France, shoppers rely on sturdy baskets called 'couffins' to carry their
groceries and other purchases. EcoBags features a collection of baskets
handwoven in Morocco and perfect for a day at the farmer’s market. We love the
extra room and classic style of their 'Orange
Weave' tote.
Even the best intentioned among us forgets to bring her reusable canvas bag to
the grocery store once in a while.
Baggu solves this dilemma with collapsible shopping bags made from zip-stop
nylon in a rainbow of colors, including peacock, saffron and even stripes. Sold
as single bags or in multiples, Baggu's scrunch-ability makes them perfect for
storing in a purse or tote bag for those impulse buys.
Who knew saving the earth could look so good??
